Grasslands in British Columbia: A Primer for Local Governments is a companion to the Green Bylaws Toolkit for Conserving Sensitive Ecosystems and Green Infrastructure. The focus of the Green Bylaws Toolkit is HOW to protect grasslands, other sensitive ecosystems, and the green infrastructure in general. The Grasslands Primer provides the rationale and clear explanation as to WHY grasslands need and are worthy of protection.
The Primer discusses the ecosystem services provided by grasslands, and summarizes the status and trends of grassland ecosystems in BC. The Primer also describes some of the work being done and legislation being used in different parts of BC to protect grasslands.
